My Anime List: Top Websites to Stream Anime Online Free

Today, I will share my anime list with you all to update you with the best anime streaming sites. Now and then I receive emails from visitors with questions about anime. If you are a frequent visitor to my blog, you know that I like to immerse myself in a good anime series or anime movie from time to time. I love to see how the Japanese can put together the most special stories – often with a good dose of psychology. In this post, I will tell you how I rolled into the world of anime; from where I watch anime to how to choose your next series or movie.

Best Free Websites for Streaming Anime Online

The great thing about Chia-Anime is that it is legal and they have an app that you can put on your phone. That way you have everything at hand. A very big disadvantage is the advertisements (at least with the free version).

Animestreams is another legal option to stream anime. You can watch the first two weeks for free. After that, you pay just under 5 euros per month.

Nowadays Animefrenzy also offers a lot of anime. For example, you can find Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist, Bleach and Steins; Gate – series that are very popular. But Netflix Originals and smaller anime are also increasingly offered. What’s handy about Animefrenzy is that they immediately show you recommendations when you add anime to your list.

Which anime is a good place to start?

If you are new to the world of anime I understand that it is difficult to choose a series or movie. There is also so much choice! Tastes differ, but Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and the Studio Ghibli and Makoto Shinkai films are good starters in my opinion. Also Attack on Titan, Orange and Erased his famous series to start in.

Where Can I Find New Anime Based on My Interest?

Okay, now you know where and which anime to watch. Maybe you had already watched a series through one of these channels. Now you are looking for a new series or film that suits your taste. But where can you find these recommendations? Below are a few sources on which I base my choices.

A good start is Animefreak, a Dutch site full of news about Japan. From food to events, politics, culture, music, a webshop, and of course everything about anime and manga. You will find reviews and news about the latest releases that each anime season has to offer. Often with a trailer so that you can immediately see if it is something for you.

Anime TakeSide Real

I’ve mentioned them before on my blog, but Anime TakeSide Real is a good site to have a look around. Founded by anime enthusiasts (like you and me) you will find reviews about anime (and manga) and articles about music, events, and news. And all of that in Dutch, which is also nice!

Anime heaven

Anime heaven is a Dutch magazine full of information about anime, manga, games, and everything else related to Japan. You can also take out a subscription.

Anime Lab

The best (English) website in the field of manga and anime is Anime Lab. The website is on top of the news and you are kept up to date every day. In addition to news reports, interviews and reviews also appear on Anime Lab.

If you like indie movies, Tubi is a good source of information. Now and then a news item or review about anime appears. Tubi is a site that you as a film lover should keep an eye on.

A website that is very useful for logging anime is chia-anime. It’s kind of like Goodreads for anime (and manga). You can indicate which anime you have seen, which ones you still want to watch and give them a rating. But many more options make it a lot of fun to start an account here, such as personalizing your lists and indicating your favorite characters. You can also check the latest releases here and request recommendations. I especially like to have an overview of what I have seen and to have the titles of the anime that I still want to watch (it is often difficult to remember the Japanese name).

Soul Anime

As I mentioned earlier in this article, I initially watched anime in Soul Anime. I have been watching Japanese for quite some time now and I must say that this does contribute to the atmosphere, but this may be different for everyone. I like that at a certain point you start to recognize Soul Anime! Multi-tasking while watching is a bit more difficult, because you cannot rely on the audio. But of course, Soul Anime is too much fun for that.

Sakura Anime

To be fair, this animation resource website is really good. Many of the resources here are not deleted, the image quality of the animation is also very clear, and there is no advertisement, so it is very comfortable to look at. This animation website is one of the best I have ever used. An absolute chasing weapon.

Yi Xuan Animation

A relatively small website, not many people know it. This website focuses on some animations that are being updated, and there is no charge, but this website is more suitable for online viewing. If you want to download animation resources, it will be relatively troublesome, because there is no network disk and magnet link provided here, only through extended scripts It can be downloaded only after modification.

Fast animation

Fast Animation is an online animation website. This website covers domestic, European, American, and Japanese animation, etc., with abundant resources and no advertisements. If you insist on its shortcomings, it is that the homepage of the website is a bit ugly, but this does not affect the experience.

What Inspired Me to Watch Anime?

Dragonball Z, Pokémon, and so on …

Of course, we all know Dragonball Z, Totally Spies, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Digimon, and other “cartoons” that used to be on Fox Kids and Jetix. But guess what, this is all anime too. My first contact with anime was through these series and films.

Studio Ghibli

In 2003, Hayao Miyazaki’s Studio Ghibli rose to fame in the West after Spirited Away won an Oscar. As a result, the genre rose in popularity here considerably. Watching the fantastic films from this anime studio sparked my interest even more.

Makoto Shinkai

After having seen roughly all the Studio Ghibli films, I came into contact with the films of Makoto Shinkai. The first movie I saw of him was 5 Centimeters / Second. Last year, Shinkai received high praise for his most recent movie Your Name.
